Privacy Policy

This policy covers every Paresis Apps app listed on this site. The apps are farm-management tools for mapping land borders and camps and tracking herd counts. This explains what data they store and why.

What we collect and why

• Location. Used on your device to centre the map and let you draw land borders and camps accurately. If you sync a farm, the shapes you draw are stored — not a continuous track of where you go.
• Camera. Used only to scan a QR code when joining a farm by share code. No photos or video are stored.
• Farm data. Land borders, camps, herd counts and checkup records you enter, so they sync between your devices and any other devices on the same farm.
• Account identity. Every device gets an anonymous identity by default. If you create or share a farm you must link a Google account instead, so you can recover access to that farm from another device.
• Push notification token. If notifications are enabled, your device's push token is stored so other devices on your farm can be told about herd-count and checkup changes.
• Subscription status. If you buy a sync subscription, we store the Google Play purchase token, the plan you bought, its expiry date, and the total head count across the farms you own — used only to work out which plan you need and whether your subscription is still active.
• Messages you send us. If you use the contact form on this website, the name, email address and message you enter (plus your IP address, to catch spam) are emailed to us and kept so we can answer you.

We do not use any of this for advertising, profiling, or analysing people. It exists to make your farm data available across your own and your farm's devices.

Where data is stored

• On your device, always — the apps work fully offline.
• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging) — if you sync a farm, farm data, your account identity and your subscription status are stored here to enable multi-device sync and push notifications.
• Our own server (api.paresis.app) — stores your device's push notification token, used to trigger sync notifications to other devices on your farm.
• Google Play — handles all payments. We never see or store your card details.
• OpenStreetMap — map tiles are fetched from OpenStreetMap's tile servers as you view the map, which reveals the general map area and your device's IP address to them, the same as any map app.

Who your data is shared with

Anyone you give a farm share code to can see and edit that farm's data, subject to the permissions you grant them. Apart from the service providers listed above, we do not share your data with anyone, and we do not sell it.

Data retention

Farm data is kept for as long as your farm is in use. A farm that has not synced any changes for 2 years is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers, along with its push notification tokens.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from within the app, under Your Account. To have a farm's data deleted before the automatic 2-year deletion, ask us through the contact form.

Children

These apps are intended for farmers and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date above is updated. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the updated policy.
